Introduction
Today, we'll explore Absol, a Darkness Pokémon from Hoenn who first appeared in the Ruby/Sapphire block. We'll go through the best, most relevant Absol ever released in Pokémon TCG, including "baby" versions and the more powerful "ultra rare" versions.
Let's go!
Top 10 Best Absol of All time
10 - Absol (Ruby/Sapphire: Legend Maker)

This Pokémon was a staple in Ruby/Sapphire's Standard format. Its ability prevents basic enemy Pokémon from attacking you if it is your only Pokémon in play.

With this ability, you can buy a lot of time to set up your strategy. Meanwhile, its attack, Extra Call, lets you get a Pokémon ex from your deck and add it to your hand, which is great when you need to develop your game plan.
9 - Absol (Sun/Moon: Team Up)

This Pokémon was critical in the Sun/Moon era because it was great against that meta's basic Pokémon, particularly TAG TEAM Pokémon.
Its ability, Dark Ambition, disrupts your opponent, as, with it, they'll have to spend more energies to retreat their Pokémon. You can also stack this effect multiple times. With two Absol TEU 88, your opponent will need two extra colorless energies to retreat their Pokémon.
8 - Absol (X/Y: Promo Cards)

This Pokémon stands out because of its ability, Lamentation, which is a "mill effect": whenever your opponent deals damage to this Pokémon, or if they Knock it Out, they'll have to discard cards from the top of their deck.
It is an excellent Pokémon for "mill" decks in Expanded.
7 - Absol (Sword/Shield: Crown Zenith)

This card stands out because of its attack, Lost Claw, which puts a random card in your opponent's hand in the Lost Zone. It is perfect for decks centered around this mechanic in Expanded.
6 - Absol (Sword/Shield: Astral Radiance)

This Pokémon is perfect for "sniper" strategies, or strategies that deal a lot of damage.
Its first attack, Swirling Disaster, deals 10 damage to all enemy Pokémon in play. Its other attack, Claw Rend, is even more powerful when the opponent's active Pokémon is damaged: it deals 50 + 70 damage if they have any damage counters!
This Absol is viable in Expanded.
5 - Absol (Sun/Moon: Guardians Rising)

This Pokémon's greatest strength is its attack, Doom News, which returns all energies attached to Absol to your hand. Then, at the end of your opponent's turn, their active Pokémon will be Knocked Out, regardless of how much HP they have left.
You can use it in Expanded.
4 - Absol "Galactic" LV.X (Diamond/Pearl: Supreme Victors)

This Pokémon belonged to Cyrus, the boss of Team Galactic, and it stands out because of its ability, Darkness Send. When you evolve this Pokémon in your active spot, you may flip up to three coins, and, for each "heads" you get, your opponent will have to discard the top card in their deck. Then, they'll send it to the Lost Zone.
Furthermore, Absol G LV.X SV 141 can copy Absol G SV 1's attacks.
3 - Absol "Prime" (Heart Gold/Soul Silver: Triumphant)

To use its attack, Vicious Claw, you'll have to discard a Pokémon in your hand and send it to the Lost Zone.
At the time, Lost Zone combos made this Pokémon incredibly valuable, particularly with Mew TM 97, or if your opponent used Lost World CL 81. With these cards, you could win the game on the spot.

You can only play it in Legacy.
2 - Absol ex (Ruby/Sapphire: Power Keepers)

This is the first Absol ex ever released - it is known for its aggressive style.
Its ability, Cursed Eyes, lets you move three damage counters from an enemy Pokémon to another, as soon as you put it on your bench. Its main attack deals 30 damage plus 10 extra damage to all Benched enemy Pokémon if any of them have any damage counters already.
It is only available in the Palace and U150 formats.
1 - Absol ex (Scarlet/Violet: Obsidian Flames)

This is the most recent, and most powerful Absol so far.
Its attack, Future Sight, lets you look at the top 3 cards of either player's deck and put them back in any order. It is a way to control your opponent and organize your strategy.
As for its attack, Cursed Slug, it deals 100 + 120 damage if your opponent has 3 or less cards, so it's extremely dangerous.
